Dr. Gupta

Dr. Gupta obtained his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from a top American university in 2005. He also obtained a Master’s degree in chemical machinery and equipment from a Chinese university in 1994. He had extensive research experience in the field of thermal fluid research.

In 2006, Dr. Gupta retained our office for his NIW petition. Our experienced attorneys carefully reviewed his background information and designed a petition package customized for him. We stated that throughout his research career, Dr. Gupta had continuously generated significant contributions to his field of research at an important fundamental level with critical national implications. He was the first to study the thermal and hydraulic performance of wavy enhanced surfaces and was the first to successfully analyze the mechanism of enhanced heat transfer in three-dimensional, sinusoidal-wavy-flow channels. He hereby proved that the use of a wavy surface had better thermal hydraulic performance than other surfaces, and in fact enhanced heat transfer by generating swirl flow and longitudinal vortices that produced localized thinning of the thermal boundary layer. Dr. Gupta’s research field was one of substantial intrinsic merit for its role in generating scientific advances in the field of thermal fluid research as it pertained to many industries including automobile, aerospace, climate control, paper-making, and energy production and convection. Dr. Gupta’s work was proposed to provide advances in high energy efficient and effective technology that would save energy and reduce cost, and therefore, his work was proposed to benefit the United States on a national scope.

In addition, Dr. Gupta’s research had resulted in a series of influential peer-reviewed scientific articles published in top journals in his field and his work had been cited numerous times by fellow researchers. We also presented 6 strong letters of recommendation from the leading scholars in Dr. Gupta’s field testifying that he was one of the top researchers in his field.

We submitted Dr. Gupta’s petition in May 2006 and it was approved in early October of the same year.
