New NIW Successful Stories (13) Dr. Singh Dr. Singh is an elite information technology professional from India. He worked for a Fortune 100 company in implementing large scale technology planning. In 2004, Dr. Singh submitted a NIW petition, and in May 2005 the USCIS requested that further evidence be provided to show that the national interest would be adversely affected if a labor certification were required. Our office was retained in 2005 to assist Dr. Singh in a reply to a request for further evidence. After two months of preparation, we submitted additional proof that Dr. Singh had made a vital impact in his field, including additional letters from independent reviewers and additional awards. Because his research was in the area of atherosclerosis and heart disease and 600,000 Americans die annually because of the disease, it was clearly in the national interest for Dr. Luo to continue his research. Dr. Jing’s petition letter was sent in August 2005 and approved in February 2005. Dr. Mai Dr. Mai is an advanced degree professional by virtue of his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from a university in Shanghai. His research has focused on anti-cancer and antibiotic drug development. He has worked on the development of anticancer diterpene quinines using state of the art analytical and synthetic techniques. In 2005, Dr. Mai retained our office to file his NIW. His research has focused on interconnecting networks for high performance computing. He is currently employed at a top national laboratory where he is building checkpointing/restart system in linux clusters for extremely large scale computers.
