New NIW Successful Stories (10) Dr. Hu Dr. Hu received a B.S. degree in Cell Biology from a top University in Beijing in 1999. He then chose to come to the U.S. in 2001 to pursue a Ph.D. at one of the top medical schools in the country. During his tenure there, he studied AIDS and other autoimmune disorders. Dr. Hu sought to file a NIW petition in 2005 with Z&A’s help. Dr. Hu’s role in studying HIP 55 function in the immune system, as he was the first to discover the critical function of HIP-55 in T-cell receptor signaling. Our attorneys highlighted this accomplishment as well as several awards he had been given as well as professional organizations he belonged to. Top academics from the U.S., UK , Germany, and Sweden also gave their support to Dr. Hu’s letters Dr. Hu’s petition was submitted on December 2005 and was approved in March 2006. Dr. Chan Dr. Chan is a multi-degreed professional with a Ph.D. from Harvard in Mechanical Engineering. Before arriving in the United States, he received a bachelor’s degree in ME in China. Dr. Chan’s research has focused on crystal plasticity which is critical in manufacturing and automotive industries. Dr. Chan sought to file a NIW petition in 2005 with Z&A’s help. Our attorneys argued that Dr. Chan’s research would be critical to producing next generation vehicles which weighed less and were produced with metal alloys. We argued that with major corporations such as General Motors, Intel, and IBM would be implementing the Dr. Chan’s research, he would be critical to advancing our economic future. Dr. Chan’s petition was submitted on July 2005 and was approved on January 2006. Dr. Wang Dr. Wang is a Korean national with an electrical engineering Ph.D. degree from a Texas university. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher in the area of Digital Signal processing. Dr. Wang has authored more than 10 articles in well known international journals on the topic of permanent magnet motor/generator drives and sensorless controls. Dr. Wang contacted Z&A to file a NIW petition in 2005. Our attorneys were able to hone in on Dr. Wang’s academic strengths and also his fields clear capability for multiple applications. For instance Dr. Kim’s research on actuators in automated equipment received attention from a defense contract company. Because his work had the capability of being applied to precision weapons. Dr. Wang’s petition was submitted on March 2005 and approved on February 2006. Dr. Zhang Dr. Zhang arrived in the U.S. from China in 2003 as an H-1B worker. He is a multi-degreed scientist with a Ph.D. in Geophysics. The core of his research is seismology, particularly in nuclear test monitoring. Dr. Zhou has been conducting federally funded research to distinguish earthquakes from nuclear explosions. Dr. Zhang contacted Z&A to file a NIW in 2005. Our attorneys emphasized that Dr. Zhang’s research was critical to the U.S. security to determine if and when a nuclear test has occurred and also anticipate when and where earthquakes will occur. Dr. Zhang’s petition was submitted in March 2005 and approved in January 2006. Dr. Yin Dr. Yin retained Z&A to file a NIW in 2005. Our attorneys trumpeted Dr. Yin’s fifteen peer-review articles in leading scientific journals in North America, Europe, and Japan. More amazing still is the 100 cites to his work. Lastly we emphasized that his work of early detection of breast, gastric, and esophageal cancers was funded by the NIH and the FDA. Dr. Yin’s petition was submitted on July 2005, and approved on January 2006. Dr. Pak Dr. Pak retained Z&A to file a NIW in 2005. Due the small number of citations, our attorneys shifted focus towards professional awards that Dr. Park had won. Our attorneys also focused on the many international conference which Dr. Pak had presented at. Lastly the national benefit Dr. Pak served was to ensure safe and consist roads, which accounts for nearly 11 percent of our GDP. Dr. Pak’s petition was submitted on July 2005, and approved on February 2006. Dr. Zu Dr. Zu obtained a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from a university in China. Then he came to the U.S. to earn a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, focusing on telecommunications and signal processing. His research focused on new methods for multi-layer video transmission over wireleess Dr. Zu retained Z&A to file a NIW in 2005. Our attorneys paid great detail to his academic achievements and his resume. By focusing on Dr. Zu’s business world impact as well as tangible academic research, we demonstrated that his research would have a profound impact on our economy. Despite the fact that Mr. Wang lacked a Ph.D. degree, we emphasized that he had a prominent research post at a top university. Our attorneys highlighted the fact that he had been published in several textbooks due to his extraordinary skills as a linguist and language teacher. Mr. Wang’s petition was submitted on August 2005 and was approved in February 2006. Dr. Wu Dr. Wu retained Z&A to file a NIW in 2005.
