Washington, D.C. – USCIS announced today that it has closed the Katrina e-mail account at the Texas Service Center. The e-mail account provided an alternate way for USCIS customers affected by Hurricane Katrina to submit address changes and allowed individuals to continue receiving critical mail from USCIS like notices, receipts and requests for evidence, despite their displacement. The Texas Service Center last received a change-of-address notification through the Katrina e-mail account in May 2006.
