20,000 H-1B Caps May Run out Early August On July 7, 2006, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released the latest count on H-1B caps for master degree or above obtained in the US. As of July 6, USCIS had received 14,249 petitions, as well as 700 uncounted. In other words, there were only about 5,051 caps remaining. Here are the latest three updates from USCIS:
In the past 13 days, USCIS received 2,231 petitions, with a pace of about 172/day. That means, the H-1B caps can still run about 29 days, if there is no big variance in application speed. In other words, the remained H-1B for master degree and above obtained in the US will be run out on around August 8, 2006. So, hurry up,that is what we can suggest right now to people who want to apply H-1B with an American master’s or above degree. (07/11/2006) For more immigration news, please click here |
