Since USCIS announced that the 65000 Standard H1B cap was met on 5/26 a few days ago, we are concerned of the status of the 20,000 advance degree H1B cap. As May 31, USCIS has received 6,280 applications in the advance degree H1B category. There are still 13,720 quota numbers available. Because the standard H1B quota numbers have run out, we anticipate an expedited usage of the advance degree H1B quota numbers. Please keep a close eye on this matter, and we will also keep updating at the first time. * Refers to the estimated numbers of beneficiary applications needed to reach the cap, with an allowance for denials and revocations. Each target is subject to revision later in the cap cycle as more petitions are processed.
** 6,800 are set aside for the H-1B1 program under terms of the U.S.-Chile and U.S.-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. Unused numbers in this pool can first be made available for general use on October 1, 2006, the start of FY 2007.
