New Employment Verification Programs in Planning Stage In efforts to replace the outdated and somewhat frustrating I-9 employment verification process, the USCIS has proposed a new web-based program that would allow employers to received automated confirmation of newly hired employee's work authorization. While the I-9 process is still the only legal recognized method of verification, this pilot program is available on a voluntary basis in all 50 states.
