FedEx May Have Delivery Delays on April 1 FedEx has posted a notice of national service disruption on its website on April 1, 2008 (http://www.fedex.com/us/update2.html) The Memphis hub (where FedEx is headquartered) and flight operations experienced substantial disruptions on the night of March 31 and the morning of April 1 due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. However, we don’t think this delivery delay will cause any problem for H-1B petitions given the new five-day filing window for cap-subject H-1B petitions. According to the new filing procedure, if the H-1B quota is reached at any time during the first five business days (4/1-4/7) on which petitions for the upcoming fiscal year may be received, all cap-subject petitions received during the first five business days will be included in the random-selection lottery. Nevertheless, you need to closely track the status of your application package. --------------- At Zhang & Associates, P.C., our attorneys and supporting professionals are committed to providing high quality immigration and non-immigration visa services.
