Visa Bulletin for April 08: India Gets Unused EB2 Quota

The Department of State released the latest Visa Bulletin for April 2008 on March 14.
There are few changes for applicants born in mainland China filing employment-based immigration petitions. However, there is a big leap in EB-2 for applicants born in India as DOS allotted the unused EB-2 numbers in the previous calendar quarter to the India EB2 applicants.

The following are cut-off dates for employment-based immigration petitions. Dates in the parentheses are cut-off dates for February 2008.

For people born in mainland China:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: December 1, 2003 (December 1, 2003)
EB3: February 8, 2003 (December 1, 2002).

Cut-off dates for people born in India:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: December 1, 2003 (Unavailable)
EB3: October 1, 2001 (August 1, 2001).

All chargeability areas except China, India, Mexico and Philippines:
EB1: Current (Current)
EB2: Current (Current)
EB3: July 1, 2005 (January 1, 2005)
