Cut-Off Dates Move Forward in April 2006According to visa bulletin for April 2006 released by Department of State on March 10, 2006, cut-off date continues to move forward for those people born in mainland China who filed employment-based immigration petitions. Cut-off date of EB1 moves July 1, 2003 to January 1, 2004 (6 months). Cut-off date of EB2 moves from July 1, 2002 to January 1, 2003 (6 months). Cut-off date of EB3 remains unchanged (May 1, 2001). We predict that EB-2 and EB-1 keep moving quickly in the next a few months. Therefore, if you consider applying for employment-based immigration and have an option to choose any one of these categories, EB-1 and EB-2 including NIW should be the first choice. In addition, if you need to file labor certification petition and can choose to file it under EB-2 or EB-3, EB-2 PERM is definitely the best choice due to cut-off date advantage of EB-2.
