New Announcement from USCIS regarding H-1B

As we mentioned before, 20,000 H-1Bs were supposed to be available for those individuals holding a master ’s degree or higher degree from a U.S. institution of higher education under the Omnibus Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2005. Nonetheless, USCIS has just issued an announcement indicating that it intends to waive the requirement of an advanced degree from a U.S. institution. In other words, all qualified H-1B nonimmigrant aliens will be eligible to use the 20,000 quota regardless of the level of their degrees (Bachelor degree is still the minimum) and the locations of their institutions of education.

USCIS has not published an unambiguous guideline concerning the announcement and the filing date. We are devoting our full attention to this matter and will make the first-hand news available to public as soon as USCIS releases any additionally information.
