New Background Check Service Doesn’t Accelerate Name Check

We reported on 12/7/06 that USCIS would launch a Background Check Service early in January of 2007, but USCIS just confirmed this system is delayed and will be in effect sometime in March of 2007.

It is expected that this new system will speed up currently delayed security check process. However, USCIS clarified on Feb. 9 that it will only assist with the coordination of information but will not accelerate the background checks.
