For example, in the New York metro area, a Marketing Manager earning $120,000 might only qualify at Level 1, whereas a Marketing Specialist at the same salary could qualify at Level 4. Similarly, in finance, a Financial Manager typically requires a higher prevailing wage than a Financial Analyst, even if the roles are similar. Choosing Financial Analyst could offer better odds. In transportation, a Transportation Engineer may require a higher wage level than a Transportation Planner, but both occupations can be valid. Thorough occupation research can uncover roles that align with your work while meeting H-1B criteria at more advantageous wage levels. Careful occupation selection is a strategic way to improve your H-1B lottery chances.
