Renae M. Yoo is an Illinois licensed attorney. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago with her M.A. in International Political Science, and Loyola University Chicago School of Law with her J.D. During law school,Renae did legal research in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam, and worked in Tunis, Tunisia. Renae graduated from Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois, with a B.A. in French and political science. During college, Renae studied in Paris, France and Wuhan, China.

Prior to law school, Renae worked for three years as a paralegal at a large Chicago immigration law firm on a variety of immigration matters, where she focused on family-based immigration and naturalization and was the supervising paralegal of the nurse specialty practice group. She also worked on numerous cases involving deportation and removal, asylum, hardship waivers, adoption, registry, and employment-based petitions.

During law school, Renae worked for a small Chicago immigration law firm, focusing on physicians, H-1B petitions, and rescission proceedings. She also worked for Loyola University Chicago as a research assistant, researching federal and state law compliance for universities involved in immigrant-rights advocacy, and she currently volunteers as a guardian ad litem for unaccompanied minors in removal proceedings. Also during law school, Renae worked for a solo practitioner focusing on Illinois civil litigation.
